Assessments

I provide face-to-face, in-depth diagnostic assessments and screening for dyslexia in and around the Northamptonshire, Leicestershire, Cambridgeshire and Bedfordshire areas. Dyslexia can present significant challenges in education, work, and personal life, affecting areas such as reading, writing, organisation, attention, memory and emotional regulation. I offer guidance and strategies to help individuals succeed. A diagnostic assessment lasts approximately 2.5 hours and can take place in your home, at school or at our consulting rooms in Northampton. A comprehensive report will be provided within a two-week timeframe. My reports contain background history, results, interpretation of the results, conclusions and recommendations. The reports also contain suggestions for future learning and can be used as evidence for the Disabled Students’ Allowance (DSA). Once you have had the opportunity to read the report, I will be happy to discuss it, and no extra charge will be made for this.

Tuition

I offer one-to-one personalised lessons tailored to the individual learner. My approach is cumulative and structured, as well as sequential and multisensory. My lessons are fun, engaging and well-organised. I use assessments to guide my teaching and track student progress. I work with students to enhance their literacy skills, as well as their memory, self-help strategies, self-esteem, and self-confidence. I can also provide tuition for study skills.

Thank you for making my son feel relaxed and putting him at ease during the assessment. The report was very thorough and contained detailed explanations. We were very grateful for the fast delivery. Thank you so much for the recommendations and advice to help my son.

I was really anxious about what the assessment would entail, but Helen quickly put me at ease. After the assessment, she explained the results and now I really understand my strengths and weaknesses. She helped me understand the reading and spelling difficulties I’ve faced since primary school and gave me useful ideas to help me on my course.
